Look Who Is Gonna Be a Big SISTER!!

Yes you are!!! My sweet angel will be a big sister!!  And you get a double dose!! We found out we will be having TWINS!! SHOCKER!! We still don't know whether you are gonna be a big sis to boys, girls, or boy/girl??  We will find out July 8th, 2011.  We tell you that mommie has two babies in her tummy.  You kiss my tummy and tell us how you are gonna be a big sister.  We found out we were expecting April 3rd, 2011.  The twins due date is actually December 1st, 2011. We are guessing they will make an early appearance, so we tell people sometime in November.
You have no idea how much our world is about to change!!  Mommie can't even wrap her mind around it.  I am going to have 3 babies! WOWSIE!! But I am sure you will be a big help! You sure are a great mommie to all your dolls. Which you have named--Chili, Joey, and Jenny.  Actually, Jenny and Chili are the same doll, but we decided you have diagnosed her with bipolar because she goes back and forth between her names!  Speaking of names, we are trying to come up with your siblings names.  It is a little harder picking out two names versus just one, but that is just going to be the case with everything I suppose!! Harder but twice as sweet!!  I am soo ready to welcome your baby siblings into this world.  I can't even imagine loving another child as much as I love you, but I am sure I can find some room in my heart for two!! They will fill our hearts even more, but never ever replace the bond and love I have for you!  Even if mommie seems so busy with the twins, I hope you never forget that!! You are my sweet angel, and I love you sooo much!! !

Swimming Lessons 2011 / 2 1/2 years old

You are taking swimming lessons with Mrs. Pam Owens.  It amazes me how well you listen to Mrs. Pam.  You do not like to go under water, but if Mrs. Pam says so, you will.  Of course, not without crying and pleading not to!! I think today, I will count the number of times you say, "I don't wanna go under". It kills your daddy to watch his baby girl cry nearly the entire time of swimming lessons! He had to go inside Mrs. Carla Colvin's house last time so he could muffle out your crying!! LOL! It really kills him!  Mommy, on the other hand, loves to watch and laughs at how funny and dramatic you can be.  I know you are in good care, so I can bare through the crying fits.  You are doing so good.  You can go under, blow bubbles, and kick to Mrs. Pam.  Maybe you will be an amazing swimmer like your daddy was at 3.  He was actually on a swim team at that age. Amazing!! At this point, Mommy just wants you to be able to save yourself if you decide to jump in the pool.  After all the crying, at the end, you still want to come back the next day! Blows my mind!  Ms. Cindy Kranz is bringing you to lessons tomorrow--I sure hope you are a big girl for her!! I hate to miss a single lesson, but Mommy and Daddy are going to Papa's visitation.  I am sure you will do a wonderful job without us.  You are so adorable the entire time.  But the cutest ever is when you and Mrs. Pam count before you go under.  You count 1-2-3 and the whole time you can hear the dread in your sweet voice, but you do it like a big girl.  I love you so much!! I can't wait to wrap you up in your towel as soon as you get out the pool and brag on how awesome of a swimmer you are!! UPDATE ON YOUR LESSONS!!---WEEK 2 and now you are a pro!! It is hilarious the dramatic change you have made!! You tell Mrs. Pam "I wanna go under". HUH?!? Amazing what a few days of lessons can make.  You can even jump off the diving board and swim to the steps.  Needless to say, I am one PROUD mommie!! You are an awesome, brave, ADORABLE, swimmer. I loooove my baby girl so much!! And not to mention, you have the sweetest most patient teacher EVER!! She is wonderful with you.  We already have your spot reserved with Mrs. Pam for next year.  Can't wait to see you in lessons again.  It was so fun!

Papa

Last night at midnight Papa passed away.  He passed on May 8, 2011.  We are grateful that he is now at peace and in a much better place.  He will be greatly missed.  Brooklynn is 2 years and 7 months old.  I am not sure if she will remember Papa, but he sure thought a whole lot of her!

OUR PAPA, March 2010

 Brooklynn and PAPA.
This is March 2010.  You are 2 1/2 years old.  This is a picture of you and your Papa. He loves you so much.  He calls you his "Little Bit".  When he felt better, he would come get you and drive you all around.  He loves being around you and hearing your sweet laugh and voice.  You sing to him. His favorite songs are "Jesus Loves Me" and "The ABCs".
Recently, Papa was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.  He is being very strong and brave about it. He did one round of chemotherapy, but the side effects of chemotherapy were not very comfortable. Because his cancer has progressed so much he has chosen to discontinue the treatment of chemotherapy. He has decided to live out his life happy and comfortable, without the side effects. He is now on hospice, and even your wonderful daddy helps out a whole lot.  He has been surrounded by hundreds of friends and family, and is enjoying every minute of it. He LOVES company!
I hope you will always remember your Papa.  He told me through tears that he was sad he would not get to see you grow up, but I know he will be watching you from up above always.  You light up his day when he sees you.
And one day while he is watching all of us from heaven, I am sure he will be telling God about his "Little Bit".

DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL!!!!

Brooklynn looooves her daddy!! And he is an amazing DADDY! I do not know what Brooklynn and I would do without him. Brooklynn loves for her daddy to say prayers with her at night. Tonight before bedtime, Matt and I were playing with Brooklynn in her room. Brooklynn was laughing at her daddy, and I said, "Don't you just love your daddy??". She giggled and said, "he is so funny"!! Which we thought was so funny and so I asked, "is mommy funny?". Her response was, "mommy not so funny". Matt got a HUGE kick out of that!! She loves her momma, but if her daddy comes around I have to take one step back. She adores the ground he walks on. They have such a special bond, and the same interest in TECH sports!! lol!!

MY BUSY LITTLE BROOKIE BEE!!

Brooklynn had her very first lesson of gymnastics at CC's yesterday. It was sooo adorable to watch her! She loved to jump on the trampoline. I think the program will be great for her. They teach all the basics of gymnastics along with the names of each move which was interesting because I was learning too!! They also did some songs like the "Hokey Pokey" and "The Wheels on the Bus". She loved playing with the parachute too! They are called the Tumble Bears. She appeared to be the youngest and smallest thing in the group!! When I say it was ADORABLE, that word does not even explain it! I was sad I forgot my camera, but I will have many other lessons to take pictures. I really hope she continues to love gymnastics and stays in until she is in high school. She cried when it was time to go!
Every Tuesday Brooklynn also has her kindermusic with Mrs. Pam. She took this class last quarter. She loves doing music and learning all the instruments. And she has learned how to "STOPPP" which is soo cute.
So she keeps us really busy. She is our busy little Brookie Bee and the best blessing ever!

Where has all the time GONE !!!!

We found out we were expecting January 1, 2008 "HAPPY NEW YEAR" to us!! We started telling our friends and family around 5 weeks.  I craved ice cream and lemons.  My baby shower was at the James House and was hosted by Elizabeth Clark, Emily Sandidge, Sunny Journey, Lyndsey Pyles, Jenny McMinn, and Janna Lee.
Brooklynn was born September 10, 2008. She was born at Northern Louisiana Medical Center by Dr. Harper. She was born at 5:30 pm.  She weighed 6 lbs and 6 oz, and was 21 inches long.
Brooklynn switched to formula at 5 weeks, her preference was Gentleease :)
Her first word was Momma. She loved to swing and listen to Bethoven and Mozart.
Her first book that we read every night was a bath time book called "Water, Water Everywhere"--Her Aunt Jenny McMinn gave this book to her
Her first time to see the ocean was at 8 months old.
Her first Halloween she was pumpkin, her second she was a ladybug, and her third she was a kitty cat!
She got her first tooth at 6 months old. She loves to brush her teeth.
She lived at Hundred Oaks from the day she was born.  We built a house in Tanglewood on Lovers Lane and moved in when she was 1 year and 3 months old. We lived with MiMi and Pop while we were building our house.
She first started to crawl at 5 months.
She learned how to walk by using her walking toy. She learned how to walk at 11 months.
Her first haircut was when she was 1 year and 9months old.
She loves to paint, draw, do make up, watch movies, paint her nails, take baths, eat sweets, and LOVES being on the GO!
She loves "bands", otherwise known as band-aids.
She was potty trained at 2 years and 4 months old.
She goes to "school" at Emmanual Baptist Church daycare and loves it.  Same place where her Uncle Jason and her mommy went as children. Her best friend is Selah from school.
She loves "my marny", Jordan Davis, and Hannah Ledet

Her first birthday was a cupcake theme and her second was ICE AGE!! She picked the theme this time :)
She loves to swing. HIGH!!!
Her first horse she rode was at Max's birthday in November 2010.  She also rode Monterray Bay at 2 years and 3 months old.  A world champion quarter horse and her mommy's training horse.
When she goes potty at public restrooms we are NOT allowed to flush--this scares her! We avoid the "scarey"  bathrooms that automatically flush!
At 2 yr and 4 months old she has yet to sit on Santa's lap--he is very scarey and "big" to her!
Her grandparents are MiMi and Pop, Tito and Cymi,  Denny and Nanna, Papa and Honey, Grandma and Granddaddy, and Mamow.
Her first movie at the movie theatre was Tangled at 2 years and 3 months old.  She did good, but we had to walk around the last 30 minutes of the movie! She got popcorn, a hot dog, and an icee at the concession stand.
Her nighttime routine is potty, get water sippy cup, paci, blankee, baby or Monte (her horse), pillow, and books.  Daddy reads her a book and then Mommy sings a song with her and sometimes also reads a book.  Then daddy says prayers with her.  This routine started at 1.5 years old.

GO DAWGS!!

Brooklynn does not miss a single Tech Game! She loves to watch the band, cheerleaders, and athletes.  BUT as much as she loooves CHAMP--he scares her something terrible!! So far, she has never given poor CHAMP a sweet Brooklynn hug!! OH well maybe one day!

Brooklynn is growing up toooo fast

Brooklynn is potty trained (2yrs and 4months old).  She has been wearing big girl panties for about 3 weeks now--only a few accidents!! And I must brag even more--she even wears her big girl panties at night!! AMAZING, I must say!! Tonight she surprised us with going all by herself to the potty!! She came and got me to show me her "poo-poo" in the potty!! I never been so happy to see "POO" in all my life!! LOL!! How did we FINALLY do it??? CANDY!! She knows she will get a piece of candy if she goes, but now she just goes like a big girl!! She loves hershey kisses--she calls them "bowls"--not sure where she got that from!! Everyday she is growing up too fast!! She loves to sing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", "I'm a little teapot", "ABCs", "Jesus Loves Me", "If your happy and u know it", and she can count to 20.  She does not miss a single thing! Her favorite movies as of now are "Princess Frog", "Nemo", "Madagascar", "Lady and the Tramp", "Peter Pan", "Home on the Range"--but at the VERY moment we are stuck on "Princess Frog".  Matt and I can quote nearly all these movies!! Soon we will be taking down the crib.....and putting her in a big girl bed...I have to say, that will be a bittersweet moment! And we are holding off that milestone as long as possible. She is just growing up too fast.
